Bras Across the Bosque
When I first heard about it on the radio, I couldn’t believe my ears. Local radio stations here in Albuquerque, New Mexico were collecting bras from women (probably a few men too) for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to string across the Montano Street Bridge to show support for Breast Cancer Research.
I took a long, cold walk to the bridge early this morning to capture a few images. I’ve shifted the colors a little in post production, to give them more of a surreal look, because let’s face it, it is not every day you see unmentionables along one of the most busiest streets in Albuquerque. For such a great cause, this was definitely worth the trip.

California Dreamin’
Usually this time of the year, the family and I pack up a vehicle and drive out to the central California Coast from New Mexico for 10-12 days of fun in the sun.
This year is going to be an unfortunate exception. With gas prices hitting an all time high, school schedules, work schedules and varying other factors, we’re going to have to sit back in our ’swamp cooled’ home in New Mexico and enjoy the photos from the last few years.
One of the greatest things about the central Coast (ie: San Luis Obispo, Cayucos, Morro Bay) is that when the majority of the United States is sweltering under massive heat waves, at the beach the average temperature is 75 degrees (f). Cool marine layers, the refreshing ocean fog and numerous other environmental factors makes this place a great ‘cool’ getaway.
I am originally from southern California (San Diego) so any opportunity to go visit my native state, is a wonderful adventure and yes, a little like going home.

A Little Bit South…
(…of Albuquerque)
Outside of Mountainair at the Salinas Pueblo Missions are many historical ruins.
They are: Gran Quivira Abo, and Quarai.
I went down to explore these amazing places with a sightseeing group of about 30 other photographers last summer.
Here are a few images taken during that great adventure.
